Manage MyChart Accounts in an Updated Activity

The updated MyChart Administration activity combines and adds upon actions previously available in the separate MyChart Administration and Proxy Access activities, making it easier for you to complete common tasks in a central place.

Find or Create an Account

  1. In Hyperspace, go to the MyChart Administration activity (search: MyChart Administration).
  2. In the window that appears, enter the patient name in the format Last, First.
  3. Select Search Accounts.
  4. If the account you are looking for appears in the Results pane on the right, click the name to open MyChart Administration for that account.
  5. If you do not see the account, you are looking for: a. Click Search Patients to search for patient records
    1. Click Search Patients to search for patient records rather than account records
    2. Click Create Non-Patient Account to create a new account for a non-patient. You should do this only after you have confirmed you also cannot find a patient record for your searched account name.

 

Activate or Deactivate an Account

To activate an inactive account that was not previously active:

  1. In the Create MyUHealthChart Account section, select the activation method:  Launch Signup. This opens a browser window with the MyUHealthChart signup page.
    • Send Text. This opens a window where you can enter the patient's mobile phone number and send them activation information.
    • Send Email. This opens a window where you can enter the patient's email address and send them activation information.

To deactivate an active account:

  1. Click Deactivate.
  2. In the window that appears, confirm that you would like to continue with deactivation. If the patient has proxies, confirm whether you would like to revoke proxy access as well.
  3. If your organization requires account deactivation comments, enter them in the Deactivation Comments window.


Add, Change, or Remove Proxy Relationships

If another person's account already has proxy access to the account you are viewing, you can see their name in a section called People Who Can Access <Current Account Name>. If the account you are viewing already has proxy access to another account, you can see the person's name in a section called People <Current Account Name> Can Access. You can take the following actions in both sections:

  1. Click Edit to change the proxy relationship type, such as from Parent Accessing Child to Parent Accessing Teen.
  2. Click Revoke to remove proxy access.
  3. Click Give Proxy Access to grant another person access to the account you are currently viewing.
  4. Click Reveal Potential Proxies to see suggested proxy relationships. These are suggested based on people already associated with the patient, such as a guarantor, legal guardian, or emergency contact.

 

Change Login Information

  1. In the MyChart Administration activity, go to the MyUHealthChart Details section.
  2. Click Edit Username to change the username the patient uses to log in.
  3. Enter the new username in the window that appears and click Accept.
  4. Click Change Password to change the password the patient uses to log in.
  5. Enter the new password in the window that appears. Confirm the new password and click Accept.

 

Enable or Disable Two-Factor Authentication

  1. In the MyChart Administration activity, go to the Additional Details section.
  2. In the Two-Factor Authentication subsection, change the status as needed:  Click Disable to turn off two-factor authentication for this account.
    • Click Enable to turn on two-factor authentication for this account.
